Blackboard Collaborate Training
Blackboard (Bb) Collaborate™ is a synchronous web-conferencing technology used by Royal Roads University. While there are many web conferencing tools (e.g. Skype, Bluejeans, Zoom, etc.), Bb Collaborate™ is specially designed for teaching and learning environments. It is where groups of students meet online to discuss assignments; and instructors meet their students in blended and online courses. Bb Collaborate™ has features that are similar to how a discussion works in a classroom, where many people are participating and “raising their hand” to add to the conversation. This tool supports effective learning experiences in the Royal Roads University environment of online, blended, and mobile learning.
CTET offers Participant and Moderator training to Faculty and program staff. Level 1 Participant Training is self-guided, as is Level 2 Basic Moderator Training. Level 3 Advanced Moderator Training is led by a CTET facilitator and offered regularly.
