Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW)

The Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) is a 3 day offering, focused on teaching practice (and practising teaching!). Participants work on lesson planning and delivery, give and receive feedback on teaching, and stretch themselves to consider options and alternative approaches to teaching, assessment, and feedback.

Participants teach 3 "mini-lessons" (one per day) so come prepared to teach on the first day.

Student success is supported by:

  • an online community site with resources, mini-lesson examples, etc
  • an opportunity to meet online the week before the course starts to ask questions of the ISW facilitators and meet the other participants
  • an open invitation to contact the facilitators individually at any time

Royal Roads University's ISW workshop takes place 3 times per year. Please contact CTET for further information on the next ISW.
