Donna brings significant experience in designing, developing, and facilitating online and face-to-face courses in a variety of Canadian and international learning environments. She enjoys working with diverse colleagues across the disciplines to develop creative curriculum that enhances learning and teaching experiences for all participants. Donna's particular areas of expertise are in collaborative learning teams, engaged pedagogies, authentic learning, and culturally responsive learning design, which dovetail with the RRU learning and teaching model. On her leisure time, Donna enjoys the visual and performing arts, yoga and fly fishing.
Donna began in learning design by creating and facilitating courses in Collaborative Team Learning and Diversity for the University of Calgary. Later, she provided instructional design services at SAIT and TRU across a wide range of disciplines. Donna collaborated on several curriculum interculturalization projects, which include re-designing courses for the OERu, research and presentations on intercultural learning, and supporting the Intercultural Intersections community of practice. Recently, Donna co-authored an article on Culturally Responsive Learning Design for the Intercultural Education journal.
