Transform Your Classroom with Team-Based Learning
December 9 and 11, 2015 in Nanaimo, British Columbia
The evidence is growing worldwide in support of the Michaelsen-Knight-Fink Model of Team-Based Learning (2004). TBL promotes greater student independence and personal responsibility for learning. It works in any discipline, with any content; with beginning students as well as advanced students; in large classes as well as small classes. The key? Design well, then get out of the way while students figure things out. TBL is now broadly in use at institutions of higher learning on several continents, with measurement data consistently showing high gains in student achievement and low rates of attrition.
The Vancouver Island University TBL Institute is designed to take you through the process of transforming a traditionally taught course into a TBL course. This event is geared for faculty members who will implement the TBL approach beginning in January 2016.
